Aftercare

  • The day of

After your tattoo is finished I’ll wrap it in clingfilm and advise on how long you need to keep this on as it’ll depend on the size and style.

When the time is ready, take it off and clean it with lukewarm water and an unscented antibacterial soap. Let it air dry for 10 minutes and then apply your preferred aftercare cream.

I recommend using unscented Palmers coco butter. Feel free to message me with options and i can yes or no it.

You can shower as normal from the first day of being tattooed, just don’t use any harsh chemicals, and only use clean hands to clean the tattooed area (no flannels or sponges).

  • The next two weeks

Your skin will do most of the healing itself and the cream will help with any itchiness and dryness.

Apply the cream 2 times per day or 3 times if you have naturally dry skin. You only need a small amount, make sure you properly rub it in with clean hands.

Keep creaming it for 2 weeks, after this you can go back to your usual creams! Keeping your skin moisturised will help the skin age better as well as your tattoo. Same goes with sun cream!

Everyone heals differently and at different paces, so please also listen to your body and feel free to message me if you have any questions! The guidelines here are rough ideas to help with the time frames.

  • Things to avoid after

    - Picking or scratching the tattoo when it gets itchy.

    - Any exercise that causes heavy sweating and any tight clothes over the tattoo for the first 2 days.

    - Any alcohol for the first day after your tattoo.

    - Harsh chemicals, scented scented skin scare, sun cream, fake tan etc. for 2-3 weeks.

    - Re-covering the tattoo for the next 2 weeks and avoid soaking it in water for the next 3 weeks.

    - Direct sunlight on the tattoo the first 2 weeks and any waxing or exfoliating for 4 weeks.
